Position Summary
The CSU Test Engineer provides technical expertise, training, and consultative support for Commissioning and Startup (CSU) activities across assigned projects. This role supports testing planning, turnover coordination, material management, quality control, and environmental, safety, and health requirements. The position requires schedule flexibility, including overtime and support for day or night shift operations.
Key Responsibilities
General Duties
• Support CSU responsibilities including installation configuration validation, test planning, and test document development.
• Assist in scheduling and planning CSU execution activities, including sequence planning and resource requirements.
• Prepare equipment test records and Pre-Operational testing binders.
• Participate in construction-to-CSU turnover walkdowns.
• Coordinate with construction field engineers to support component and system turnovers.
• Initiate, track, and maintain punch lists developed during testing phases.
• Perform and monitor equipment testing to ensure compliance with requirements, specifications, and approved test procedures.
• Ensure activities are conducted safely and work is executed in alignment with schedule and cost objectives.
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
• Prior experience as a CSU Test Engineer.
• In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70E.
• Previous commercial or Department of Energy (DOE) experience, including work under NQA‑1 requirements and support for Operational Readiness Reviews (ORR).
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program (Chemistry, Physics, or related fields acceptable) AND a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Must meet DOE O 426.2A requirements (e.g., engineering or related scientific degree, 2 years job-related experience, and 1 year nuclear experience or approved alternative).
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must pass a drug screening.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance badge.
• Requires the ability to obtain a DOE Q‑level security clearance (current clearance not required for consideration).
